Atomic City Children’s Theater to Hold Auditions for 2015 Junior Theater Festival Field Trip

Atomic City Children’s Theater (ACCT), the Los Alamos Public Schools’ award winning after-school theater program, is excited to announce auditions for its Junior Theater Festival (JTF) field trip to Atlanta, Ga.

Auditions will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 and are open to all students between the ages of 8-18 in the Los Alamos or White Rock area. Students wishing to participate in the field trip should come to the Mountain Elementary School gym. Registration begins noon.

New Mexico Museum of Art Taps Carmen Vendelin As New Curator of Art

Carmen Vendelin was recently the Curator of Art at La Salle University Art Museum in Philadelphia, Penn. Previously, she was at the Newark Museum, Newark, NJ, the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, and at the Art Institute of Chicago.

She has more than 13 years of museum experience, 10 of those curatorial. Her area of specialization is 19th and 20th century American and European art with particular emphasis on the years between the 1870s and World War II. At the New Mexico Museum of Art, she will be working mainly with collections before 1955.
