Art In Public Places Board Seeks Three New Members
COUNTY News:
The Art in Public Places (APP) Board is seeking community members committed to enhancing public spaces to help shape the artistic landscape of Los Alamos County.
Three board positions are coming open.
This offers a unique opportunity for new board members to influence how art enhances public spaces and enriches this community.
Details:
- Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026;
- Interviews to be held February 2026; and
- New terms begin March 25, 2026.
Who can apply?
- Los Alamos County residents who are not employed by the County and do not hold public office are eligible.

The public was invited to attend a re-dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting event for “Strange Trio” on Dec. 2, 2015. The colossal steel sculpture was relocated Oct. 13, 2015 to the entrance of Overlook Park at the intersection of Meadow Lane and Overlook Road in White Rock.
