EDD Selects David White Southwest Regional Representative

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) has announced David White, a native New Mexican with more than 25 years of banking and agricultural experience, as the new regional representative for Region 5 covering seven counties in Southwest New Mexico.

Mesa To Mesa Hosts ‘Tool Drop’ Saturday At Metzger’s

Mesa to Mesa, a local nonprofit providing free home repairs, is hosting its annual “Tool Drop” event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Metzger’s Do It Best, 1607 Central Ave., just after Earth Day.

The community is invited to donate new or gently used tools, which will be distributed to low-income homeowners or used by Mesa to Mesa volunteers on repair projects. Monetary donations are also welcome.

State Again Refreshes Route 66 Centennial Grant Program

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Tourism Department’s (NMTD) Route 66 Centennial Grant Program is offering communities another opportunity to invest in special events and infrastructure improvements in preparation for the 100th anniversary of “The Mother Road” in 2026.

NMTD first initiated this program in July 2024, which resulted in $1.5 million in grant awards to nine communities along Route 66.
