Council Action: Green Lights Evaluating Permitting Process

When it comes to improving the process of starting a business in Los Alamos, County Council agreed it would be beneficial to bring in some fresh blood.

County Accepting Applications For P&Z Commission

COUNTY News:

 Los Alamos County is accepting applications for eligible candidates for appointment to a vacant seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

This vacancy is a three-year term, expiring 36 months from the date of appointment, and open to registered Republican or Independent candidates.

New Mexico Supreme Court Broadens Legal Grounds For Civil Lawsuits On Outside Of State Businesses Or Individuals

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Supreme Court Thursday issued an opinion broadening when a business or individual from outside of New Mexico can be sued for damages in the state.

In its unanimous opinion involving damage claims against law firms for a tobacco company, New Mexico’s highest court for the first time adopted “conspiracy jurisdiction” for civil lawsuits.

Council OKs Completing Plan For Eastern Downtown MRA

Work on the metropolitan redevelopment area (MRA) plan for the eastern portion of downtown Los Alamos will continue; Los Alamos County Council unanimously approved to see the plan through to its completion during its regular meeting Tuesday.
