Three entrepreneurs Will Win Portion of $1,500 at LAVA’s Elevator Pitch Contest Sept. 11

Three entrepreneurs who deliver the best 60-second speech at the Elevator Pitch Contest Thursday morning will share in $1,500 in total prize money. 

SIVI Corporation and Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Feynman Center for Innovation (FCI) and Community Programs Office (CPO) are sponsoring the event and providing the prize money. The contest is hosted by LACDC’s Los Alamos Venture Accelerator (LAVA) and part of Los Alamos ScienceFest.

Entreprenurial Teen Grand Challenge Participants Wow Judges

The Quality Mobile Small Engine Repair Team from Espanola took First Place in the Entreprenurial Teen Grand Challenge and received $400 to build their business. The event was held Monday at UNM-Los Alamos as part of Los Alamos ScienceFest 2014. Judges were impressed by the achievable goals outlined in their proposal. Financing the Entrepreneurial Enterprise Course in Crowd-Financing Begins Sept. 19

BUSINESS News:

Local entrepreneurs are invited to take a course on launching a startup and getting it funded at the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (in the Small Business Center, behind the Post Office).

Nicholas Seet, the founder of the Los Alamos Venture Accelerator (LAVA), will teach Financing the Entrepreneurial Enterprise noon to 4 p.m., each Friday beginning Sept. 19.

Los Alamos Students Compete In Small Business Grand Championship Tonight

Today, Los Alamos High School student Jonmichael Weaver and home school student Savannah Martinez will compete in a small business grand championship, as part of Los Alamos ScienceFest activities.
