Interfaith Coalition’s Winter Drive Delivers 114 Boxes Of Essentials To Support Española Valley Neighbors

When 11 local congregations — large and small — joined forces for a winter collection drive to support three busy frontline aid groups in Española, generosity flowed. Over three months, a steady stream of donations from community members and faith groups filled collection boxes staged at each congregation. By the end of the drive, 114 boxes of supplies had been delivered to the Española organizations serving those most in need.

The SaxAtomix Present Mozart And More March 12

MUSIC News:

The SaxAtomix will present Mozart and More at Muy Salsas restaurant from 12–1 p.m., Thursday, March 12. The program will include classical ensemble pieces from Mozart and others. They will also perform humorous takes on Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and the William Tell Overture.

Rounding out the program are Irish, Spanish, and Latin numbers. Admission is free. Muy Salsas is located at 1315 Trinity Drive in Los Alamos. The Los Alamos Mountaineers would like to announce their 2026 rock climbing school, in conjunction with Mountain Skills Rock Climbing Adventures of Taos. Details can be found on the climbing school page. Scholarship aid may be possible in cases of need.

Mountain Skills, supported by Mountaineers volunteers, will teach rock climbing with a safety-first attitude, including movement on rock, belaying, rappelling, cleaning protective gear, and removing anchors, with extensive on-rock practice. Read More

County: Wildland Fire Preparedness Meeting March 18

Los Alamos Fire Department’s Wildland Fire Division, in collaboration with the Los Alamos County Office of Emergency Management, will give a Wildland Fire Preparedness presentation, hosted by the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

Toppers Baseball Falls To Capitol Jaguars 5-6

The Topper baseball team traveled to Santa Fe Monday the play the Capitol Jaguars in a nonconference game. It was a beautiful day for baseball, and the game was exciting to watch as the teams were well matched, and the score changed several times and ending in a 5-5 tie which prompted extra innings to settle. The Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office is excited to announce the 2026 “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest. Open to students in grades pre-K through 12, this contest aims to inspire creativity and communicate the importance of voting and civic participation. Students should submit their designs to the Clerk’s Office no later than April 7, 2026.

Los Alamos Golf Course Spring Update, Opening Schedule

It has been yet another warm winter, and Los Alamos County staff have been working diligently to maintain the course. The Golf Course Improvement Project management team, Icon Golf Studio, and Mid-America met last week to discuss the status of the course and a timeline for warranty work to be completed this spring, as mentioned in the September Golf Course Update.
