Beware of Door-To-Door Magazine Crews

Staff Report

It’s that time of year when magazine peddlers descend on White Rock and Los Alamos neighborhoods.

While some may represent legitimate companies – many do not.

A local resident contacted the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning to say she had been duped:

“Please post to let residents beware. The shady mag crews are in town again. We had one at our door yesterday. I was not aware of this ‘scam’ that goes around and I wrote a check for $66 for a magazine subscription. After I went inside, my 19-year-old daughter explained to me who these young kids really are Read More

FOS News:

Pet of the Week: Shyloh is having a hard time understanding why he’s still at the shelter.

This mixed breed is pretty much the perfect dog … confident, affectionate, friendly, housebroken and he enjoys the company of children and other dogs.

Stop by and take Shyloh over to the dog park after which you probably won’t be able to resist taking him home.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter at 226 East Road, (505) 662-8179, has a great selection of on-site adoptable pets and others off-campus in foster homes.

Unique Holiday Shopping Available Now at Fuller Lodge Art Center’s Affordable Arts Sale

By Kirsten Laskey

The space has been cleared and filled with every type of art available. There isn’t a corner or niche in the place that isn’t displaying a piece of jewelry, a painted pottery bowl, a watercolor painting or other pieces of art.

“Everything from lamps to wall art,” Marketing Director Nancy Coombs said.

It is not just art being celebrated but the holiday Read More
