Earth Treasure Show Set for Winterfest Weekend

Don’t miss the 44th annual Earth Treasure Show sponsored by the Los Alamos Geological Society. The show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at the Masonic Temple at the corner of 15th Street and Canyon Road. 

The show has been moved one week later than usual to coincide with Winterfest activities around town.

First, a big “Thank You” to all the citizens of Los Alamos County who gave generously to the recent Letter Carrier-Boy Scout Fall Food Drive Saturday Nov. 17.

An estimated 18,000 lbs of food and supplies were collected with about 1,000 pounds sent to the San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen in Espanola.

The public is invited to hear a talk on the SanJuan/Chama Utilization Project at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 in the upstairs meeting rooms at Mesa Public Library.

Project Manager Jack Richardson of the SanJuan/Chama Utilization Project will address Los Alamos County’s plans to divert the water from the San Juan/Chama for use in Los Alamos.
