Temporary Barriers Returning To Ashley Pond Park

Today, Saturday, May 16, crews from Los Alamos County Public Works will reinstall the jersey barriers along the southern side of Ashley Pond Park to provide a critical safety barrier. Math In Mosaic Summer Camp At NNMC Is Now Free!

ESPAÑOLA — Thanks to the generosity of the Summer Mathematics Programs Consortium, Northern New Mexico College’s (NNMC) Math in Mosaic summer camp is now free to all participants and will include free lunches and snacks!

Fifth and 6th grade students can discover the joy of math by exploring a side of it they have never considered. Rather than a traditional math class, students will solve puzzles and games, then uncover the hidden math that was used without them realizing it.

I would like to publicly thank Nick and Lisa, strangers who came to my aid after a fall on the Los Conchas Trail on Monday, May 11.
Without hesitation, they brought me ice to put on my wound, and then provided me with blankets when I became cold despite the warm day.
They were cheerful and calming, and even stationed themselves at the parking lot to flag down the emergency services.
I regret that it took a fall to discover that there are still good, neighborly, caring people in the world. Consuming daily news, we sometimes tend to forget that fact.
