‘The Cosmic Trigger’ Coming To SALA For Special Los Alamos Premiere May 8 & 9

SALA Los Alamos Event Center will host a special premiere weekend of The Cosmic Trigger, the newest documentary from award-winning filmmaker Larry L. Sheffield. The film will be shown for the first time here at SALA in Los Alamos at 7 p.m., Friday, May 8, and at 1 p.m. & 7 p.m., Saturday, May 9, with Larry L. Sheffield joining audiences at SALA for a live Q&A.
Larry is no stranger to Los Alamos or to SALA audiences. Over the years, he has brought previous films here that explore New Mexico’s atomic and aerospace history, and we are excited to welcome him back for this special event. Read More
Spring Birding Hikes: Two Guided Outings With PEEC & The Los Alamos Mountaineers

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), in partnership with the Los Alamos Mountaineers (LAM), invites the community to welcome spring migration with two guided birding hikes through Acid and Pueblo Canyons. Outings will take place from 7–10 a.m., Thursday, May 14 and Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Led by local birder Robin Gurule, each hike offers participants the chance to explore two Los Alamos canyons with a small group while learning to identify migrating songbirds, especially by ear. These outings are designed to be accessible to birders of all experience Read More
Sax Atomic Play Latin At White Rock Senior Center April 30

The SaxAtomix will present a free concert at the White Rock Senior Center during noon lunch Thursday, April 30.
In anticipation of the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday, we will perform Latin-style music, including Mariachi, Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Choro, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo, Samba, and Tango pieces.
