This month’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Board meeting is 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 in Building 1, Camino Entrada Road, Pajarito Cliffs Site … note the change in time.
 
Jennifer Weiss, executive director of the Heroin Awareness Committee (HAC), will present “Opiate Addiction – No Exceptions,” a presentation and discussion regarding the current reality of drug addiction in New Mexico and the prevalence of prescription drug abuse among youth.

Pajarito Astronomers Hosts Dark Night April 13

The Pajarito Astronomers will hold a County-sponsored Dark Night starting at 7:45 p.m. (sunset), Saturday, April 13 at Spirio Soccer Field, Overlook Park in White Rock.

Weather permitting, the public is invited to come out, wander among the telescopes and star gaze.

A crescent moon will be visible, as will the planets Jupiter and Saturn. There will be a tour of the winter and spring constellations, and there will be telescope views of double stars, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies.

The Los Alamos County Airport is hosting an open house 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 5.

County’s Server/Webpage Down for Several Hours Beginning 5 p.m. April 5

As part of the upcoming move to the new Municipal Building, the County’s Information Management staff will be bringing down the server that hosts the County’s www.losalamosnm.us webpage.

The server will be down at 5 p.m. Friday and the webpage will be temporarily unavailable for a few hours while the server is physically moved to its new location in the new building.

NMDOT Selects Roundabout Alternative for NM 502–Trinity Drive

NMDOT News:

Santa Fe – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will move forward with plans to develop a roundabout at the N.M. 502-Trinity Drive/Central Avenue intersection in Los Alamos.

Construction will begin in the summer of 2014, and according to NMDOT, the roundabout will improve traffic flow and safety at this intersection.

Based on recent comments received from the public, the majority of commenters supported the roundabout, NMDOT said.
