Open House April 5 Celebrating Los Alamos Airport’s New Air Service Launch

Los Alamos County and New Mexico Airlines will host an open house 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 5 at the Los Alamos County Airport—or LAM as it’s referred to by booking agents, pilots and travelers alike in anticipation of the service launch on Monday, April 8.

Chief Pilot Dave Jones will fly into LAM first thing Friday morning and will be giving tours of the plane and a limited number of flights for members of the media and other community officials.

Plant Trees, Grow Awareness During Earth Week

The healthiest county in the nation – Los Alamos, New Mexico – is also one of the most earth-friendly.

Los Alamos County will celebrate National Earth Week beginning April 22 and National Park Week April 20–28 with many free, family-friendly events.

There will be opportunities to replant trees destroyed in the 2011 Las Conchas Fire and a chance to “Dig Nature” with the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s big Earth Day Festival, among other activities.

County Budget Hearings Set for April 15-17

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Office of Management and Budget released the prosposed 2014 County Budget.

By County Charter, the proposed budget for the next fiscal year must be published each year no later than March 31.

The proposed Los Alamos County budget for FY14 is available for review at the 311 Customer Care Center in Central Park Square and at the reference desk at Mesa Public Library.

The schedule for budget hearings also was announced. The budget hearings are 7-10 p.m. April 15-17.

County Pavement Manager Tom Roach Retires

Los Alamos County Pavement Manager Tom Roach in the Pajarito Cliffs office of Transportation Manager Nancy Talley on his final day of work Thursday. Doggie Kissing Booth Returns to Friends of the Shelter Benefit Breakfast

The Posse Lodge Breakfast Sunday, April 7, will benefit Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter, a local non-profit organization.
