Letter to the Editor: Outraged…

I don’t get my feathers ruffled easily, nor often. As a resident and business owner in Los Alamos, I am outraged and offended when I read that someone has decided to spend “fifty thousand dollars” of County money, to have folks from Tennessee come here and tell us how to market our town.
 
It hasn’t been that long ago, when the beautiful structures were erected at the top of the main hill road to Los Alamos. “Welcome to Los Alamos … Where discoveries are made.”

Breaking News: Police Hunt Woman Suspected of Robbing White Rock LANB

(Update 3:10pm with updated suspect description)

LAPD News:

Early police reports indicate that a robbery occurred this afternoon at Los Alamos National Bank in White Rock.

The suspect is believed to be a female Hispanic, 5′ 4″ and wearing Black sweat shirt, gray pants, Logo on shirt, has Blue Star Tattoo on face. Age: mid 20 to 40.

She was last seen headed toward Smith’s Food and Drug Center on Sherwood Boulevard carrying about $4,000 in cash from the bank in a plastic bag.

Voters registered in Los Alamos County have until 7 p.m. today, Feb. 5, to cast a ballot for the 2013 Los Alamos School Board/UNM-LA Advisory Board Election.

Los Alamos Historical Society Archives Closed for Move

LAHS News:

The Los Alamos Historical Society Archives are closed in preparation for a move, tentatively scheduled for April.

The Los Alamos Historical Museum will remain open during its regular hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.

The archives are closed in order to more than 1,800 linear feet of documents and photographs along with more than 20,000 items from Fuller Lodge and the Community Building to the new, purpose-built facility that is part of the new Municipal Building.
