The New Mexico Livestock Board (NMLB) is reporting that New Mexico is currently experiencing a significant outbreak of Vesicular Stomatitis (VS.)

Los Alamos County Council Chair Sharon Stover received a letter of resignation Thursday evening from Vice Chair Ron Selvage.

Selvage’s resignation followed his apology published in the Los Alamos Daily Post Tuesday for an indiscretion he had with a woman from Los Alamos while on an official visit to Moscow and Sarov, Russia last September.

Stover issued a statement to the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning regarding Selvage’s resignation.

County Hosts Recycled Fashion Workshops & Trash Fashion Show

Nancy Judd, an internationally recognized artist and educator known for creating couture fashion from trash, will host two free recycled fashion workshops in Los Alamos. These workshops will help participants in The Next Big Idea’s Trash Fashion Contest design and prepare garments for Los Alamos’ first Trash Fashion Contest.

Los Alamos County Council Vice Chair Ron Selvage submitted a letter of resignation to Council Chair Sharon Stover Thursday evening.

The County is in the process of adding an agenda item to its Tuesday, Aug. 7 agenda for County Council to discuss the vacancy and how to proceed.

Underground Line Fault Causes Eastern Area Power Outage

DPU News:

Officials from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities report that a power outage, which began at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday in the Eastern Area bounded by Myrtle Street, Rim Road and Canyon Road, affected 98 customers.

Power was restored by 4:45 p.m. to all but 20 of those customers. At 6:45 p.m., power was restored to the remaining 20 customers on Piñon Road and Rim Road.

An underground line fault at Piñon Road caused the electric interruption.

DPU officials also noted that this outage was caused by aging underground infrastructure and is not related to the construction work underway Read More
