Cowboy Breakfast At Sheriff’s Posse Lodge Sunday

Sheriff’s Posse News:

The Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse is hosting its monthly Cowboy Breakfast this Sunday, Nov. 2.

The breakfast is served 7-11 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Lodge at 650 North Mesa Road, near the North Mesa Stables.

The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes:

  • Pancakes – Banana, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip and Plain;
  • Scrambled Eggs;
  • Sausage;
  • Bacon; and
  • Coffee, Tea and Orange Juice.

The price for adults is $10, children 4-10 years of age $5 and those 0-3 are free.

Proceeds this month go to benefit the Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Read More

This morning when a friend and I were decrying the (what else) seeming dissolution of American democracy, I asked him, “Have you already voted?” He shrugged and with a dismissive shake of the head said, “Nah, I don’t vote in local elections. They don’t really matter. I leave it to people who really care about those issues.”

Los Alamos Fire Dept. Receives Plane Fuselage For Training

The Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) took delivery of a plane fuselage today for use in future training exercises.

The fuselage will be stationed at the Los Alamos Airport, where it will serve as a training tool for the Crash Fire Rescue 6 truck, which is housed at Fire Station 6.

LAFD will conduct Aircraft Rescue Firefighter Training to practice response times and scenarios to maintain operational readiness for this type of incident. No live fire will be utilized at the site. Read More
