CCD Facilities To Close For Training Sept. 24, 29, 30

COUNTY News:

Facilities that fall under the Los Alamos County Community Services Department will be closed on various dates and times from Sept. 24 through Sept. 30 to enable staff to attend mandatory training. 

 

Schedule:

  • Sept. 24, 2025
    • Los Alamos County Ice Rink will close at 4 p.m. for the remainder of the evening. Scheduled practices are also canceled for this facility. 
  • Sept. 29, 2025:
    • Aquatic Center, closed 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    • Los Alamos County Golf Course, closed 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Public Invited To Coffee With A Cop At Ruby K’s Sept. 25

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) invites community members to join them for Coffee with A Cop, a unique opportunity to connect with local law enforcement. The event will be held on Thursday, September 25th, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Ruby K’s Bagel Cafe, located at 1789 Central Avenue.

Coffee With a Cop offers a casual setting for citizens, business owners, and visitors to engage in meaningful conversations with police officers. Dive Into Pumpkin Splash At Aquatic Center Oct. 26

COUNTY News:

Make a splash this fall at Pumpkin Splash and Carnival, happening from 9-11:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Los Alamos County Aquatic Center. It’s festive, and it’s all happening in the water.

The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a carnival hosted by the Los Alamos Recreation Department, featuring games and activities for all ages. Then, at 10 a.m., children will have the chance to plunge into the water for pumpkins in the Leisure Lagoon, organized by age group to ensure a safe and exciting experience.

Los Alamos will take on Capital’s Jaguars Friday night in its annual homecoming football game.
