A preliminary hearing for Bryce Delano, 30, of Los Alamos commenced Friday before Los Alamos Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados but ended up being continued until July 17 when Delano’s attorney Michael Jones asked for the continuance in order to subpoena a witness.

Jayston Ray Platero, 35, of Los Alamos was charged June 12 with two counts of child abuse in addition to charges of driving under the influence and driving on a revoked or suspended license.

A lawsuit filed against Los Alamos National Security by Republican nominee for Los Alamos County Sheriff James Whitehead, has been slated for a pretrial conference more than a year from now.

FBI: Navajo Man Pleads Guilty To Child Abuse Charge

ALBUQUERQUE Ronald George, 47, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation who resides in Vanderwagon, pled guilty June 15 in Federal Court in Albuquerque, to an abusive sexual contact charge.
 
George entered the guilty plea under a plea agreement that recommends that he be sentenced to a term of imprisonment within the range of 78 to 97 months followed by a term of supervised release to be determined by the court. George will be required to register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence.

A 29-year-old Colorado man has been arrested and charged with false reporting and harassment in connection with an ongoing cyber harassment case involving a Los Alamos woman.

Andrew Brown was picked up June 18 in Colorado Springs, Colo., on an arrest warrant from Los Alamos Magistrate Court requested June 13 by Los Alamos Police Det. Ryan Wolking.

Damien Marquez Arrested On Warrant In Aggravated Battery Case

MAGISTRATE COURT News:

Damien Marquez, 24, was arrested June 13 on an outstanding warrant. He is charged with aggravated battery for the alleged beating of a local man May 18 outside the Veterans of Foreign War Post on Deacon Street, which left the victim with serious facial injuries requiring surgery at an Albuquerque hospital.

Los Alamos Magistrate Court Judge Pat Casados signed the warrant requested May 24 by Los Alamos Police Det. Ryan Wolking and the warrant was returned June 13. Marquez is out of custody on conditions of release.
