Jose Mascarenas, 41, of San Juan Pueblo is scheduled July 27 for a preliminary hearing in Los Alamos Magistrate Court on charges of shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance. 

Mascarenas was arrested July 5 after loss prevention personnel at Smith’s Marketplace allegedly observed him take a packet of lighters from a display rack and conceal it in his back pocket.

FBI: San Juan County Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Wire Fraud Arising Out Of Million Dollar Con Job

ALBUQUERQUE  Bobby Willis, 45, a resident of Kirtland, has pleaded guilty in federal court in Albuquerque to wire fraud charges under a plea agreement recommending a maximum sentence of 24 months in federal prison.
 
The plea agreement also requires Willis to pay restitution to the victims of his fraudulent conduct.
 
Willis was charged in a two-count indictment, which was filed Oct. 20, 2015, alleging that, from March 2010 through Aug. 2011, Willis executed an illegal scheme to defraud two victims out of $1,000,000.

Hurtado Gets Five Years Probation For 13 Felonies

A 38-year-old Alcalde woman, Rosalinda Hurtado, has received five years of probation in First Judicial District Court on five cases from Los Alamos, Rio Arriba and Santa Fe counties.

Hurtado was originally charged in Los Alamos Magistrate Court with 43 counts including forgery, fraud, identity theft, credit card theft and receiving stolen property. She also faced similar charges in Rio Arriba County and Santa Fe County.

Driver In Single-Vehicle Rollover Pleads Not Guilty

A 21-year-old Hernandez man involved in a July 9 single-vehicle rollover on Diamond Drive pleaded not guilty to charges of driving under the influence, speeding and open container Monday before Municipal Judge Alan Kirk.

Bobbyray Sisneros was arrested after Los Alamos Police and Fire Department personnel responded at 8 p.m. to the scene of the crash. Sisneros and his two passengers were transported to Los Alamos Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries.

LAPD Officers In High Speed Chase

Los Alamos Police Officers were involved in a high speed pursuit Thursday afternoon, which ended in a Colorado man being apprehended in Nambe. Carl Johann Black, 37, of Colorado Springs faces several charges in connection with the chase.
