Local Rugby Teams Host Spaghetti Dinner April 6

RUGBY News:

The Los Alamos Nukes and Los Alamos Bombshells under-19 boys and girls rugby teams are holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Crossroads Bible Church at 97 East Road.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to earn money to replace team uniforms, which have been used for  many years.

Dinner will include spaghetti, garlic bread, tiramisu or cookies and iced tea or lemonade. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Gluten-free spaghetti will be available but must be ordered ahead of time so that the cooks know how many to expect.

Spring always reminds me of the savory lamb dishes my Mom and Grandma made for our family gatherings.
 
My Grandfather and uncles were all sheep herders and lamb was a regular entre for our evening meals. Living on a farm meant nothing was wasted and so while the more expensive cuts of meat, like leg of lamb, were saved for family celebrations, slow cooking less expensive cuts brought out the wonderful flavor and tender texture we all craved.
