Pig + Fig Café New Location Ribbon Cutting May 19

The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is helping to celebrate the new location of Pig + Fig Café at 11 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock. The community is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19.
 
Laura Crucet and her father Fernando Crucet, co-owners of the Pig + Fig Café, have spent the last six months working to update and renovate the new space. The café seats more than 100 guests inside and another 40 on the outdoor patio. The larger, upgraded space will allow Pig + Fig to expand its menu and to also offer private event space as well.

Friday, May 25, the New Mexico Book Co-op Lunch features Wyatt Wegrzyn of Bookworks, talking about the new chapter at Bookworks.
 
Bookworks on Rio Grande Blvd. in the Dietz Farm Shopping Center, has been in business for 35 years. Currently, Bookworks is having a full make-over with total new construction, new events, and new promotions.
 
The Lunch is open to the public at 11 a.m. and the meeting starts at noon at the Golden Corral near Cliff’s on San Mateo. All attendees MUST pay for their own buffet lunch.

Pig + Fig Cafe Begins Move To New Space Monday

The Pig + Fig Cafe is moving Monday from 35 Rover Blvd., to its new location at 11 Sherwood Blvd., in the former Bandelier Grill location. The move will take about a week to complete.

“We are going to try our hardest to be open before Mother’s Day weekend,” Pig + Fig co-owner Laura Crucet said.

The Republican Party of Los Alamos is hosting the annual Patriots’ Day Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center.

The guest speaker for the Patriots’ Day Dinner is Centerra General Manager Col. Ted Spain, USA (retired). Sometimes known as the “Sheriff of Baghdad”, Col. Spain commanded the U.S. Army Military Police in and around Baghdad during the first year of the Iraq War. He is the author of “Breaking Iraq: The Ten Mistakes that Broke Iraq”.
