Los Alamos High School Graduate Carson Hick Named To 2025-26 USA Swimming National Team

SPORTS News:

It was announced Monday, Sept. 8, that Carson Hick of White Rock, 2023 graduate of Los Alamos High School and a junior at the University of Kentucky, has been named to the 2025-26 USA Swimming National Team. 

The men’s team includes 67 of the country’s most elite swimmers and 21 represented universities, Hick being among those selected for his national team debut.

Keller: Wildflower Extravaganza Blooming Right Now!

Late summer is always a good time to see our wonderful wildflower numbers. Right now there is a particularly large number of blooms (some 50 species!) on the Walnut Canyon Rim Trail.

This trail goes between the golf course and Walnut Canyon. It begins just off of San Ildefonso Road, just beyond the roundabout. One goes up a dirt road for about a hundred yards, then turns left onto a trail. A bit farther on, that trail splits with the Walnut Canyon Rim Trail going right.

This month’s League of Women Voters’ community event, Lunch with a Leader’, will feature Los Alamos Medical Center CEO Tracie Stratton. The meeting begins at noon on Sept. 18, at the Unitarian Church and is open to the public.

Stratton graduated from Casper College in Wyoming with an Associate’s degree in nursing. She completed her Master’s degree in Nursing Administration while working as the Chief Nursing Officer at Mountain View Hospital in Casper.
