Tomorrow’s Los Alamos Middle School Fall Sports Registration has been CANCELLED!

The registration night originally scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at the LAMS gymnasium has been cancelled. 

Access to the LAMS gym is not allowed at this time due to construction. All fall athletes should plan to be at the first day of practice Aug. 12, with paperwork in hand. Stay tuned to the Team Pages of the LAPS Athletic website for specific information about your sport. Read More

The Los Alamos High School Class of 1963 will celebrate its 50th reunion here in Los Alamos Oct. 3-6.

Classmates and their spouses and guests will be able to enjoy a wide variety of activities including a mixer, wine and cheese party, dinner/dance and picnic at various venues around town.

How many pencils do we use in each school and how many pencils do we need? 

On this year’s school supply list, third graders were asked to bring 48 pencils. Is that too much? I think so! 

I think we could each use just two pencils and sharpen them when they get dull. I wonder, how many trees can be saved if each student would bring only two pencils to school rather than 48.

Andrew Hollis began attending UNM-Los Alamos two years ago, when he was 16. Hollis is a homeschooled student who is entering the equivalent of his senior year in high school this fall.
