Both the Boys and Girls Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Track & Field teams were crowned 2025 District Champions on an intermittently rainy evening last Friday at Moriarty High School. The Boys finished ahead of Taos, 198-111, and the Girls bested Moriarty, 206-119.

ALBUQUERQUE – The Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) announced today a $2,395,072 grant awarded to Santa Fe-based NM Surf, Inc. to deliver high-speed internet access to rural students and school staff.

This funding represents the latest investment through OBAE’s $25 million Student Connect program, specifically addressing the critical disadvantages faced by rural students without home internet access. LEER (leh-EHR, to read), a Children’s Literacy Program for the Española Valley, aims to improve children’s reading proficiency through access to books and vetted, trained, caring adults (Reading Buddies) who read one on one with elementary students.
