Unemployment Insurance Ops Center Closed Labor Day

ALBUQUERQUE — All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ offices, including the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center, will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day.  

The Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System (www.jobs.state.nm.us) is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Customer Service Agents in the Unemployment Insurance Operations Center will be available when business hours resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. The business hours of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Operations Center are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Read More

New Mexico Education Secretary Arsenio Romero Resigns

SANTA FE – New Mexico Public Education Secretary Arsenio Romero resigned effective immediately Wednesday.

Earlier this month, New Mexico State University officials announced that Romero is one of five finalists for the position of president of the university.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued the following statement following Romero’s resignation.

“I appreciate Secretary Romero’s service to the New Mexico Department of Education and the children of our state,” Gov. Lujan Grisham said. “I wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
