New Mexico Department Of Workforce Solutions To Mail Unemployment Insurance Claimant 1099s By Jan. 31, 2024

ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) will mail out all IRS 1099-G forms by Jan. 31, 2024, to individuals who received Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits from the agency during calendar year 2023.

The department urges claimants to view and verify their mailing address by logging into the UI Tax & Claims system (https://www.jobs.state.nm.us). From their claimant homepage they may select “View and Maintain Account Information” and then “Contact Information”.

ALBUQUERQUE — All New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions’ (NMDWS) offices, including the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Operations Center, will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas; and Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year holiday.

Joint Economic Committee Analysis: Wages And Salaries Have Grown Faster Than Prices Since January 2021

Los Alamos County Council unanimously appointed Anne Laurent as the new County Manager during a special meeting this morning.

Laurent serves as deputy manager, along with Linda Matteson and will take the reigns from County Manager Steven Lynne who is retiring in March.

Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Chairman of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement today after the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that nonfarm payroll employment increased by 199,000 in November and the unemployment rate fell slightly to 3.7 percent.

Gessing: Minimum Wage Hike Unnecessary

According to news reports Los Alamos Council will soon consider adopting a local minimum wage of $15.00 with a minimum wage for tipped workers of $3.75 an hour and a minimum wage for student workers of $13.50 an hour. If adopted the new wage rates would become effective on July 1, 2025, and would be adjusted upward based on the consumer price index into the future.
