“Brooklyn” is a lovely film, satisfyingly sweet and kind to its audience. Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Colm Tóibín, this Irish film tells the story of the conflicting values of duty and love, faced by a young woman emigrant to America.

Duke City Repertory Theatre Presents Two Free Performances Of “Julius Caesar” Feb. 10

ESPAÑOLA — Duke City Repertory Theatre (DCRT) is proud to present two free performances of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at 10 a.m. to  7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the College of Fine Arts Theatre at Northern New Mexico College in Española.

The Ark Preschool will hold a fundraising event, Fat Tuesday Around the World, 5:45-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the First United Methodist Fellowship Hall, 715 Diamond Dr., in Los Alamos.

A sit down, four-course meal consisting of Prime Rib & Salmon will be served. Vegetarian option for a delicious cheese based soup will also be offered. In celebration of Black History Month, the Los Alamos Arts Council’s upcoming Brown Bag show will feature a collaboration of music and poetry.

Los Alamos Pianist Rheta Moazzami along with Poet and University of New Mexico Professor Dr. Doris Fields are performing in the noontime concert Wednesday at Fuller Lodge.
