Community Health Funder Alliance Accepting Applications For Community Grants Through April 30

SANTA FE – The Community Health Funder Alliance is accepting applications to its third cycle of Community Grants.

This year’s cycle is open through April 30. Community Grants are annual, open, competitive grants between $5,000 and $15,000. These grants, totaling $425,000 this year, will be awarded to new and existing community health programs that enhance and strengthen the system of care in northern New Mexico.

New Mexico Higher Education Department Offering Student Debt Relief For Healthcare Workers

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) is now accepting applications for its Health Professional Loan Repayment Program, which repays student debt for eligible health professionals practicing in rural and underserved New Mexico communities and shortage areas.

Stansbury Votes To Cap Insulin Costs At $35 In New Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury (N.M.-01) voted Thursday to pass critical legislation to cap the costs of insulin at $35 nationwide.

Her vote to pass the Affordable Insulin Now Act marks the second time that Rep. Stansbury has voted to cap insulin for New Mexicans after helping pass New Mexico’s $25 monthly cap on insulin copays in March 2020.

New Mexico Indian Affairs Department Announces 2022 Indigenous Youth Wellness Summit June 17-18

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department (IAD) announced Friday the 2022 Indigenous Youth Wellness Summit, “Being a Good Relative”.

Planned in collaboration with Honoring Native Life (HNL) and the IAD’s Indigenous Youth Council (IYC), the Summit will convene Indigenous youth from across the state to acquire mental health-related resiliency tools and strategies and identify mental health needs and priorities particular to Indigenous youth.
