CHFA Announces $1.8M In Grants For Health-Focused Nonprofits In Northern New Mexico

SANTA FE – The Community Health Funder Alliance (CHFA) is accepting applications to its third cycle of Community Grants.

This year’s cycle is open April 1-30. Community Grants are annual, open, competitive grants between $5,000 and $15,000.

These grants, totaling $425,000 this year, will be awarded to new and existing community health programs that enhance and strengthen the system of care in northern New Mexico.

WASHINTON, D.C. — U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and U.S. Representatives Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) and Tom Cole (R-Okla.) introduced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Tribal Public Health Security and Preparedness Act, legislation that would ensure Tribal nations have equal access to funding through the CDC to prepare for public health emergencies.

Positive COVID Case Reported At Senior Center

The Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) has announced this morning that someone in one of the senior center facilities recently tested positive for COVID-19.

LARSO, the non-profit organization that runs both centers said that it has many protocols in place for notifying members and sanitizing facilities.
