Peace and the paths to it rarely leave the news. To commemorate Rotary International’s dedication to Peace and Conflict Resolution, February’s worldwide theme, the Rotary Club of Los Alamos invited Rotary Peace Fellowship recipient Jaclyn McAlester to speak via Zoom at its Feb. 22 meeting.

McAlester, an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Albuquerque, recently obtained her Master’s of Arts degree in Peace Studies at the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan, through the Rotary Peace Fellowship program. Read More

NMDOH Will Not Host COVID-19 Update This Week

NMDOH News:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) will not host a COVID-19 update press conference this week.

“We are relieved to be entering a new phase of the pandemic, and learning together how to coexist with COVID,” NMDOH said. “We now have significantly lower case counts and many tools to protect ourselves and our loved ones, including vaccines, boosters, masks, at-home tests, and oral treatments.

Reduced COVID-19 Testing Hours In White Rock

COUNTY News: 

Pathology Consultants of New Mexico (PCNM) has reduced its PCR COVID-19 testing hours in White Rock. 

The Overlook Park drive-through site’s new hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning immediately.  

Tests are administered on a first-come, first-serve basis; no appointments are necessary. The test is self-administered using a swab to collect a sample in the shallow part of the nose.

PCNM will provide results within 24 to 48 hours.
