New Mexico COVID-19 Update Jan. 19, 2022: 5,735 New Cases, Totaling 425,920 With 28 Deaths & 328,438 Recovered

STATE News:

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 5,735 new COVID-19 cases today.

Los Alamos County reported 32 new cases today, bringing the total to 1,813 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 28 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 28.3 percent.

Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

State Introduces Free At-Home Rapid Testing Program

More than a million tests expected by next week

SANTA FE – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) are securing more than 1 million ihealth at-home rapid antigen tests for the state, to be initially distributed in areas of higher social vulnerability.

So far, more than 400,000 tests have been secured, with the remaining tests expected to arrive in the coming week.
