I wanted to provide a brief update on what Los Alamos County is doing to continue to track the COVID-19 pandemic with regard to local and regional cases numbers and to provide advice on mitigation efforts and logistical support for testing and vaccinations.

ALBUQUERQUE — The Alzheimer’s Association, New Mexico Chapter (AANM) is announcing a special one-day virtual “Caregiver Seminar” for families in New Mexico experiencing Alzheimer’s and dementia.

This free inclusive seminar is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29. The seminar covers content from all three Alzheimer’s Association “Living with Alzheimer’s for Caregivers” programs: “Early Stage”, “Middle Stage” and “Late Stage.”

New Mexico COVID-19 Update Jan. 4, 2022: 1,654 New Cases, Totaling 359,116 & 31 Deaths & 312,321 Recovered

STATE News:

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,654 new COVID-19 cases today.

Los Alamos County reported 9 new cases today, bringing the total to 1,135 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 31 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 19.8 percent.

Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:

  • 511 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Catron County
