New Mexico COVID-19 Update Dec. 29: 1,371 New Cases, Totaling 347,831 With 33 New Deaths And 302,325 Recovered

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,371 new COVID-19 cases today, Dec. 29.

Los Alamos County reported 2 new cases, bringing the total to 1,013 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

This update includes 33 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19 and a 7-Day positivity rate of 11.9 percent.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) announced today that it plans to adopt new federal guidance surrounding isolation and quarantine for COVID-19.

FREE New Year’s Day Workout At The Y

Y News:

The Family YMCA is hosting a free Les Mills community launch party workout from 10:30 am-noon on New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1, in the Y’s gymnasium, 1450 Iris Street. The workout is free to everyone, and no experience is required.

Patients, Advocates Applaud State Medical Debt Rules For Better Protecting New Mexicans

New Mexico Together for Healthcare Tuesday applauded the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance for issuing final medical debt rules that reflect patient and advocate requests to strengthen the draft rules to better protect low-income patients.

The medical debt rules took effect Tuesday and were issued to implement the Patients’ Debt Collection Protection Act (PDCPA), which NMT4HC and its community leaders supported and was signed into law earlier this year.
