Thanksgiving and Christmas travel by car or air is on our minds and in our calendar. Long lines, higher gas prices inevitable delays are a guarantee.
How do we avoid this stress?
The first and most important step is to develop a mindset that these things are out of our control. Instead we can turn our focus onto the things we can be proactive about. Anxiety and worry will not fix these things so focusing on our personal plan is the healthiest way to move forward.

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,844 new COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.2 percent.
Los Alamos County reports 2 new cases today bringing the total to 885 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
This update includes 25 new deaths today in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are:
- 488 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 1 new case in Catron County

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) is encouraging New Mexico parents to take action now so that children ages 5 and up can complete their COVID-19 vaccination process in time for December holiday gatherings.

SANTA FE — New Mexico state health officials announced 1,530 additional COVID-19 cases today and a 7-Day positivity rate of 12.3 percent.
Los Alamos County reports 19 new cases today bringing the total to 883 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)
