Moderna Booster Vaccine Clinic Set For Sunday Oct. 31   

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) and Trinity Urgent Care will hold a vaccine clinic to administer a single Moderna booster (third dose) for select populations who received the Moderna vaccine as their primary series (first two doses). 

The clinic is 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Los Alamos High School Auxiliary Gym.

New Mexico Offers Guidance For COVID-19 Booster Shots

NMDOH News:

SANTA FE – On Thursday, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the approval of booster doses for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines for certain populations. (Pfizer boosters have been available since late September.)

The CDC also approved “mixing and matching” for all three COVID-19 vaccines. CDC clinical guidance has not yet been released, and the New Mexico Medical Advisory Team will review it Monday after it is released.

Today Is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

DEA News:

Today is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

DEA and its partners will be at more than 4,000 local drop-off locations nationwide, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering free and anonymous disposal of unneeded medications.

 The Los Alamos Police Department will be conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the North parking lot (off Central Avenue) at the police station.
