Y And LAFC Offer Mothers Support Group June 1-July 27

Y News:

Amid the stressors of a global pandemic, Los Alamos partners offer a local solution. A free, professionally facilitated support group for mothers 10-11:30 a.m. beginning Tuesday, June 1 at The Family YMCA.

Registration is required to reserve a spot, which is limited to eight participants.

The support program meets Tuesdays through July 27, except June 22, for eight weeks. It is not a therapy program, but will be facilitated by Karla Palmer, who is a therapist at Los Alamos Family Council (LAFC).

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) will host a virtual veterans claims, benefits and assistance clinic 9 a.m. to noon Friday, May 28.

Veterans or their eligible dependents can log onto the Zoom links listed below for face-to-face assistance with filing VA disability claims, for state veterans benefits, guidance regarding registration for COVID-19 vaccines, or help with any other issues facing a veteran:

SANTA FE — A high school in Farmington has become the third of New Mexico’s 840 public schools to face a mandatory, 14-day return to remote instruction in the nearly two months following widespread school reentry.

Piedra Vista High School received the closure order Tuesday after reporting four Rapid Responses in 14 days, the state’s conservative threshold to prevent spread of COVID-19.
