The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) statewide Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist for May 1 through May 19 show a number of positive cases reported at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Los Alamos Fire Department:

The “All Rapid Responses” data is a minimally processed dataset that represents positive cases in the workplace that are reported to the Environment Department through the Department of Health or by employers through the mandatory reporting requirement. Think of it as a readout of all positive cases reported as NMED receives them.

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Health officials announced 210 new COVID-19 cases today.

Los Alamos County reports zero new cases so the total remains at 528 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Senators Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) today introduced the Midwives for Midwives for Maximizing Optimal Maternity Services (MOMS) Act to address the maternal and infant mortality crisis by increasing the number of trained midwives in the United States.

DOH COVID-19 Update: 32 Of 33 Counties Now Turquoise

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today the updated statewide COVID-19 map, with 32 of the 33 New Mexico counties now at the Turquoise Level and one at the Green Level, at which there are fewer restrictions on commercial and day-to-day activities amid decreased virus risk.
There are no counties at the Yellow or Red Levels as of May 19. Counties may still backslide with enhancing risk upon the next biweekly map update, however, if vaccination thresholds are not reached and key health metrics indicating the spread of the virus worsen.

Rural Veterans Transport Program Has New Phone Number

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) has created a new phone number for making reservations with the Rural Veterans Transportation Program.

The program, launched in February, provides free round-trip rides for veterans living in the following nine counties: Cibola, Socorro, Colfax, Guadalupe, Harding, Mora, Quay, San Miguel, and Union—to the following VA medical facilities:
