DVS Hosts Virtual Talk On COVID Vaccines For Veterans

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) will host a live Facebook discussion about COVID-19 vaccines for veterans at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 5, on the DVS Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/nmdvshealthcare2015/

DVS Healthcare Division Director Jemia Warner will be joined by representatives from the New Mexico VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) and the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) to provide the latest information about the two COVID-19 vaccine program options available for veterans: The NMVAHCS, and, for all New Mexicans, DOH.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 359 New Cases, Total Now 185,542 With 13 New Deaths And 150,168 Patients Recovered

STATE News:
SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials today announced 359 additional COVID-19 cases.
Los Alamos County reports no new case today so the total remains at 483 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

Today’s update includes 13 more deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reports today’s most recent cases:

COVID-19 Testing Tuesdays And Thursdays At Overlook

COVID-19 TESTING News:
Curative is providing COVID-19 testing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Overlook Park in White Rock.

DEA Announces 20th Take Back Day Set For April 24

DEA News:

With opioid overdose deaths increasing during the pandemic, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced its 20th ‘Take Back’ Day scheduled April 24.

At its last ‘Take Back Day’ in October, DEA collected a record-high amount of expired, unused prescription medications, with the public turning in close to 500 tons of unwanted drugs.
