“So, how are you feeling?” 

Some people I talk with seem to be just as they were a year ago, but many are not. Occasionally, someone reports an increase in happiness and well-being, but that is the exception. 

It’s been quite the year. 

This recent report from the Gallup Poll declares “Americans’ Physical Health Holding Up Better Than Their Mental Health” and that we collectively rate our mental health at a new low.”

While I suspect it is helpful to gather this data, I trust there are more beneficial things to assess.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 166 New Cases, Total Now 185,297 With 13 New Deaths And 147,446 Patients Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials today announced 166 additional COVID-19 cases.
Los Alamos County reports no new case today so the total remains at 482 people who have tested positive for COVID-19. (County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.)

Today’s update includes 13 more deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

New Mexico Waives Medicare Savings Programs Asset Test

The New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Service Department (ALTSD) announces that the Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) help pay your Medicare costs if you have limited income.

New Mexico has waived the asset test for Medicare Savings Programs as of Jan. 1, 2021.

If you applied for a MSP in the past and were denied due to being over the asset limit, now is the time to reapply, since asset guidelines no longer apply and only your income will be considered when determining eligibility.

Today 300 seniors received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at the Betty Ehart Center in Los Alamos.

Nambe Pharmacy, Los Alamos Visiting Nurses, LAFD, LAPD, Los Alamos County staff, LARSO staff and volunteers will administer the second dose of the Moderna vaccine to seniors Sunday at the White Rock Senior Center.
