The Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service (LAVNS) Hospice Program is holding its annual “Daffodils for Hospice” sale.

Proceeds from the sale support the LAVNS Hospice Program for terminally ill individuals.

Daffodil pre-orders are being taken through Feb. 26.

SANTA FE—The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) issued public health guidance today for New Mexicans ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl.

“Gathering for the Super Bowl this year is an untenable risk to the health and safety of your loved ones and friends,” DOH Secretary-Designate Dr. Tracie Collins said. “The virus is still a very real danger. If you choose to watch the game, please do so only with members of your household.”

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 670 New Cases, Total Now 175,652 With 29 New Deaths And 107,645 Patients Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 670 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County reports 3 new cases today bringing the total to 452 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 29 more deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reports today’s most recent cases:

  • 161 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 37 new cases in Chaves County
  • 6 new cases in Cibola County
  • 7 new cases in Colfax County
  • 7 new cases in Curry County

The installation of outdoor learning shade structures at school sites in the district began this week with holes being drilled for poles at Chamisa Elementary School in White Rock.

The good news is that New Mexico has done very well compared to most states in using the vaccine given to it. New Mexico also has a very well-organized approach to registering for and administering vaccines, compared to most states.

Curative’s COVID Testing Continues At Overlook Park

COUNTY News:
Residents who would like to be tested for COVID-19 have easy access to testing right here in Los Alamos County.
They can visit the Curative-staffed testing site at Overlook Park in White Rock by simply registering online for a test slot and then driving to the park.
The page to register for the hosted bi-weekly event is below and the event is held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
This is the easy-to-do “saliva swab” test that is free and offered by Curative and the next test is Thursday, Feb. 4.

NMED Cites O’Reilly Auto Parts In Lovington $242,827 For Allowing COVID-19 Symptomatic Employees At Work

NMED News: 

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) issued citations to O’Reilly Auto Parts (O’Reilly) for violations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act that resulted in an unsafe workplace.

The citations were issued for violations by management to protect employees from exposure to COVID-19. NMED assessed penalties of $242,827.20 for the violations.
