ACT Dial-A-Ride For Essential Business Begins Nov. 16

COUNTY News:

Atomic City Transit is reducing transportation to a Dial-A-Ride service for customers who may need to perform essential business beginning Monday, Nov. 16.

Dial-A-Ride will be available 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

The reduction in service is in response to maintaining passenger safety by complying with public health order to “Stay at Home”.

MANNM Organizes Step Challenge To Mark Diabetes Month

November is National Diabetes Month to raise awareness of diabetes and come together as a community to bring attention to this widespread problem.

Today, Nov. 14 marks World Diabetes Day, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.

The theme this year is “The Nurse and Diabetes” celebrating the significant role that nurses play in education and management of our patients.

New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 1,237 New Cases, Total Now 62,006 With 22 New Deaths, 24,449 Patients Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 1,237 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County reports 2 more cases today bringing the total to 84 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 22 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

  • 319 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 1 new case in Catron County
  • 109 new cases in Chaves County
  • 21 new cases in Cibola County
  • 2 new cases in Colfax County
  • 39 new cases in Curry County

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.

There are 194 establishments on the Watchlist.

The protective masks that most of us wear are great except for one thing: we can’t always hear what the wearer is saying.

A partial solution for those of us with limited hearing is a mask that lets us see the speaker’s mouth.

Whether we realize it or not, most of us have some ability to read lips. My wife’s mask is designed with a transparent portion through which her mouth is visible.
