Seasonal Positions Available On Santa Fe National Forest

SANTA FE — Interested in a seasonal position on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) in spring 2022?

The Forest Service will be accepting applications on USA Jobs starting Nov. 5 and closing Nov. 12.

The SFNF will be hiring seasonal employees to work in a variety of  management areas in the upcoming application period.

Management Areas Include:

  • Wildland Fire
  • Recreation
  • Plants/Wildlife
  • Timber
  • Archaeology
  • Natural Resources

SANTA FE – After a successful test fire today, fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are proceeding today with the previously announced Diego prescribed burn on the Cuba Ranger District.

The 374-acre treatment area is north of the community of Gilman and 1 mile east of the Rancho del Chaparral Girl Scout Camp.

SFNF: Prescribed Burn In Santa Fe Watershed Is Underway – Expected Overnight Inversion Will Cause Smoke To Linger

SANTA FE – Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are taking advantage of optimal conditions today, including good ventilation and northwesterly winds, to conduct the previously announced Aztec Springs prescribed burn in the Santa Fe Municipal Watershed.

Crews will use hand and aerial ignitions to treat approximately 300 acres north of Nichols Reservoir and Granite Point in the lower section of the Santa Fe Watershed. SFNF May Implement Mesa Potrero Burn On Coyote District

SFNF News:

SANTA FE — Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are planning as Wednesday, Oct. 27 to implement the previously announced Mesa Potrero prescribed burn on the Coyote Ranger District as early.

Crews will use hand and aerial ignitions on the 492-acre treatment area approximately 7 miles north of the community of Gallina and 14 miles northwest of the Coyote District Office. Forest Road 77 will remain open, but motorists can expect increased fire-related traffic and are advised to find alternates routes to help ensure firefighter and public safety.
