Prescribed Burn Planned On Santa Fe National Forest

SANTA FE  Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are planning a prescribed burn near the community of Mesa Poleo on the Coyote Ranger District. 
 
Hand ignitions could begin as early as Tuesday, March 21, if conditions, including weather, winds and air quality, are favorable. 
 
The SFNF hopes to treat 300 acres of hazardous fuels located 1.5 miles southwest of the community of Mesa Poleo and 3 miles southwest of Coyote. Fire crews expect to treat 50 to 100 acres per day as long as conditions remain favorable. Although

A fire broke out around 9:40 p.m., Wednesday night in a vacant building on Riverside Drive in Espanola, gutting a former laundromat. LAFD Warns Of Phony Fundraiser Phone Scam

LAFD News:

Los Alamos Fire Department is warning citizens of a telephone scam. Several local residents have contacted LAFD inquiring if the department is conducting a fundraiser, or trying to attempt to collect a debt, after receiving calls this week from a phone number that registers in Caller ID as belonging to the fire department.

Such calls are a phone scam and attempts to gain personal or financial/credit card information.

Burn Planned On Jemez Ranger District Sunday

SANTA FE  If conditions, including air quality and weather forecasts, remain favorable, fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest plan to conduct the previously announced prescribed burn Sunday, March 5 on the Joaquin fuelwood unit on the Jemez Ranger District.

Members of the public have helped clean up the 80-acre unit to prepare it for treatment. The Joaquin fuelwood unit is at the intersection of Forest Roads (FRs) 376 and 488 for approximately 1 mile to the north.

There are more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) annually in the U.S., nearly 90 percent of them fatal, according to the American Heart Association’s newly released Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics – 2017 Update.
 
According to the report, the annual incidence of EMS-assessed non-traumatic out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in 2015 is estimated to be 356,500. Estimates also suggest 7,037 children suffer OHCA each year.
