Jemez Ranger District Conducts Thompson Ridge Prescribed Burn

SANTA FE ― Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest are conducting the previously announced Thompson Ridge prescribed pile burn on the Jemez Ranger District.  
 
Conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, are favorable to complete the burn. The 40-acre treatment area is north of the community of Thompson Ridge off of Forest Road 106.

SANTA FE ― Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest expect to begin the previously announced Gallina wildland-urban interface (WUI) prescribed burn on the Coyote Ranger District today if conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts are favorable.

SANTA FE – Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest announced Friday plans to conduct prescribed burns in several locations on the Coyote Ranger District, including the Gallina wildland-urban interface (WUI), throughout the fall. 

Ignitions on several pile burns and the Gallina WUI could begin as early as Monday, Oct. 24, if conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, are favorable.

SANTA FE ― Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest are planning to conduct the previously announced Mesa Potrero pile burn on the Coyote Ranger District this week if conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts, are favorable. 
 
Ignitions on the 470-acre fire, located 7 miles northwest of Coyote, could begin today, Oct. 19, and conclude Friday, Oct. 21. Crews expect to burn small blocks of 100 acres per day.
