Community Invited To Trails Information Fair April 25

COMMUNITY News:

The community is invited to drop by the community-wide National Celebrate Trails Day event, 9-11 a.m.,  Saturday, April 25, at Co-op Park, 1010 Central Ave.

More than 15 area groups and organizations have been invited to this community open house to talk about their events, activities, membership opportunities, and volunteer opportunities. Meet Striker, the Ambassador Horse, a friendly Arabian. Striker will anchor a booth by local equestrians with information about what to do if you encounter a horse on a trail.

High Desert Winds Santa Fe (HDWSF) will present its Spring 2026 Concert, a tribute to mothers and other prominent women, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at St. Francis Auditorium, New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave., in Santa Fe.

This concert features Suite from ‘Maria de Buenos Aires’ and guest conductor Jan Gaynor, conducting ‘Blessed Are They’ by Johannes Brahms.

Los Alamos High School To Host Arts & Music Festival

LAPS News:

The community is invited to enjoy an evening of arts and music at the annual Arts & Music Festival hosted by Los Alamos Public Schools (LAHS). This event will take place at 5 p.m., Thursday, April 23, at LAHS 1300 Diamond Drive.

The evening will include concerts by elementary, middle school and high school choirs as well as band and orchestra performances. The LAMS and LAHS jazz bands will also perform, along with several groups from the Jazz Project.

Artwork by students across the district will be on display.

Northern Río Grande National Heritage Area (NRGNHA) offers a hands-on workshop held at Los Luceros Historic Site from 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Saturday, April 25, for building a mini-indoor greenhouse to grow plants for remedios, or remedies.

In this workshop, learn how to build a small indoor mini greenhouse designed specifically for growing traditional remedios, or remedies, herbs at home. Even without outdoor space or garden beds, families have long found ways to nurture healing plants year-round.
