Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program Announces First Ever Storytelling Fundraiser Event June 29

RAALP News:

The Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program (RAALP) will hold a storytelling fundraiser event, “The Story Starts Here: Empowering our Community Through Literacy” from 4-7 p.m., June 29 at the Los Lucero’s Historic Site in Velarde, NM.

The fundraiser will feature several local storytellers, live music, a food truck, a silent auction, and raffle prizes. Tickets are $20 and include one raffle entry. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the event.

The warmer weather we have been having recently will soon be moving trout to deeper water in our lakes and reservoirs. Fishing in the early mornings and evenings will be more productive soon. This will also be the case for warm water species like walleye and catfish.

Streamflows decreased or stayed relatively stable in the smaller streams of Northern New Mexico this past week. It is a little early but runoff may have peaked already. The streamflow levels dropped in the Pecos River and Jemez River.
