NPS: Fall Elk Hunts Increase At Valles Caldera

NPS News:

JEMEZ SPRINGS — Starting in 2023, fall elk hunt licenses for Valles Caldera National Preserve (Unit 6B) will increase from 265 to 350 tags — a 32 percent increase from the current 2022 season and a 67 percent increase since the National Park Service began managing the park unit in 2015.

The New Mexico State Game Commission approved this change at a recent meeting. The additional 85 elk tags are for antlerless hunts, open only to New Mexico residents.

$10 Million Awarded To 14 Capital Outlay Projects In New Mexico MainStreet And Arts & Cultural Districts

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) and New Mexico MainStreet (NMMS) have awarded $10 million in Capital Outlay funding to 14 MainStreet and Arts & Cultural Districts for community revitalization projects.

The NMMS Capital Outlay program funds the planning, design, and construction of public infrastructure upgrades in targeted public investment areas. Projects directly support economic growth, property renovation, business development and job creation.
