Home Renewal Program Cycle 3 Opens April 17

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Community Development Department and the Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) announced today that Cycle 3 of the Home Renewal Program will open Tuesday, April 17.

Residents who meet income qualifications and require financial assistance to make repairs or improvements to their homes are encouraged to apply for this subsidized loan program. Homeowners are not required to make payments unless the home is sold or vacated.

Study Finds Los Alamos Among Best Places To Retire In New Mexico

A new study from SmartAsset ranked the 10 best places to retire in New Mexico. The study considers taxes (both income and sales), the number of doctors’ offices and opportunity for recreation and social life. According to the study, Los Alamos ranked among the top spots in New Mexico.

A kitchen of any size can feel roomy if you know a few tricks. Sticking to white cabinets and walls is a good start, but there are many other ways to create extra room in your kitchen, or create the illusion of a bigger space than you have, all without sacrificing a sense of personality.
 
Consider shallow cabinets. Not all of your lower cabinets must be the standard 24-inch depth. Most cabinet lines (even stock cabinets from big box stores) also come in a 12- or 15-inch depth usually used for upper cabinets.
