Growing up with countless stories of my grandpa and uncles up in the mountains caring for the family flock of sheep, it was not a surprise to have lamb on the menu often. My grandma was a master in the kitchen and could whip up a feast in record time; she was very fond of lamb. I think it reminded her of the good old days raising her small children on the family farm surrounded by her flock. Los Alamos Public Schools Close For Today Due To Snow

LAPS News:

Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS) will be closed today, March 2, 2023.

With the continued snowfall in Los Alamos this morning, LAPS is not able to get parking lots and sidewalks cleared.

There are some roads that the school buses cannot travel on to pick up students. LAPS cannot safely operate.

NNSA: Construction At N.M. 4 & East Jemez Road Intersection Scheduled To Begin In Late March

NNSA News:

Construction to expand and improve the intersection at East Jemez Road and N.M. 4 is scheduled to begin in late March, weather permitting.

Under contract with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), Star Paving began some of the prep work in the Fall of 2022, building a retaining wall on the west side of NM4. This next phase will involve traffic controls as there will be some impact.

Fun In Store For Purim At Los Alamos Jewish Center March 6

Perhaps the most joyous of Jewish holidays is a minor festival known as Purim. The name is translated from the Hebrew word for “lots” based on an incident in the story of the holiday as told in the biblical Book of Esther.
