RE/MAX First and the residents of Los Alamos stepped up for their neighbors this holiday season, raising $8,300 to help local non-profit organization Self Help, Inc.

Change In International Travel Takes Effect Tuesday

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County residents should be aware of a recent change in international travel that takes effect Tuesday, Jan. 26.

A COVID-19 test will be required no more than three days ahead of a departing international flight back into the United States, in order to show negative test results to the airline prior to boarding.

NMDOT Promotes Safe Rides Through Super Bowl Weekend

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and the Governor’s Highway Safety Association (GHSA) have partnered with Lyft to offer safe rides in New Mexico now through Super Bowl weekend, Feb. 8, 2021, to combat drunk driving.

Participants will receive a $20 Lyft credit to be used up to two times per Lyft account. 

Rides are offered anywhere statewide where Lyft is available. Participants may access the credit through the Lyft app using the code: NMSuper21.

There are two classic international recipes for this 7th and final day of One Los Alamos Diversity Week: Atakilt Wat and Misr Wat from Ethiopia by Mulu Ayele.

Ayele came to the United States from Ethiopia in the late 1980s. She has been in Los Alamos for the past 14 years.

Ayele has worked in various businesses in the county in addition to being a homemaker.
