Traffic Alert: North Road Remains Closed At Diamond

COUNTY News:

North Road at the intersection of Diamond Drive remains closed due to a water break that occurred Thursday morning. 

Traffic to and from Quemazon is rerouted on Sycamore.

Other traffic impacts include a southbound lane drop on Diamond, which includes the closure of the bike lane and sidewalk on the west side of Diamond.

Temporary repairs are estimated to be complete by early next week.

Updated Emergency Public Health Order Increases Restrictions Of New Mexico Food Establishments

NMDOH News:

It has been announced that food establishments in New Mexico may only serve customers using take-out and delivery options, as of 9 a.m. Thursday, March 19.

These restrictions are being implemented under an emergency public health order from the New Mexico Department of Health in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The Department of Health and the Environment Department, which regulates food establishments, strongly encourage businesses to utilize curbside take-out and drive-through options when possible and ask that customers call in orders ahead of time.

The Los Alamos Subway at 1370 Central Ave. is open regular hours and offering customers take-out service.

Hours are 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Subway staff will assist senior citizens, parents with babies and young children and handicapped individuals by bringing their food order to their vehicle.

Traffic Alert:

The Department of Public Utilities reports that a water break, which occurred Thursday morning, forced a closure of North Road at Diamond Drive.

While the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities water crews were able to isolate the line at noon Thursday and stop the flow of water, North Road was compromised and remains closed to all vehicles. 

Traffic to and from the Quemazon community is being rerouted on Sycamore Street.

Bureau Of Land Management Suspends Entrance Fees On All Public Lands Across America Until Further Notice

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After careful consideration and at the direction of Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will temporarily suspend the collection of all entrance fees until further notice.
